on Last Friday 09-11-18, Faculty of Computer and Information Technology has had the Faculty Open Day. The gathering aimed to build good Lecturer-Student relationships in FCIT. Through presentation session, other activities, and Q&A session, we created opportunities for students to gain insights into study, campus life, to approach potential supervisors for research work, and to learn about different career options. It also fosters the students’ sense of belonging to the faculty, department as well as MEDIU.
The gathering was started by a welcoming speech delivered by the dean of faculty Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wael Mohamed Shaher Yafooz. In his speech, Dr Wael showed an introduction about FCIT, Faculty structure, list of academician, and the main academic ideas and issues concern all of the students. After that, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Najeeb Abbas Al-Sammarraie the deputy dean for postgraduate studies gave brief session about the Faculty academic programs by each department of the faculty.
Then comes to time to open the doors for students to know what will be the most proper career paths for them after finishing theirs study with the faculty. This session was explained by Mr. Samer Bamansoor the Head of Information Technology Department. Moreover, students were briefed about the main faculty regulations such as Registration, Attendance, activities and the Communication Guidelines related to the faculty. Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdallah Mahmoud Mousa Altrad the Head of Computer department was in charge of that part.
Before the end of the gathering, the faculty honored its students who received the highest marks in different levels and departments. The appreciation certificate was distributed for the Best final year projects and Best industrial training student. the student certificate delivered by Deputy Dean of Undergraduate Student Affairs Dr. Mahmoud Ahmad Al-Khasawneh
